Artist Statement

Over the past couple of years, I have been working with tension between abstraction and representation. The subject of my work varies between versions of nature such as cellular structures, foliage and plants, vistas of rolling hills and human interventions in the landscape. The matter of facts, readings or translations of these situations and elements of life resonates within me for many different reasons. Empathy drives me, emotions and feelings give rise to a friction or desire that needs to be translated into outcomes which vary from paintings to sculptures. They include both digital and analog methods that sometimes combine as hybrid forms.
